In order to make the best use of the performance of your dampers, it is advisable to proceed with their maintenance regularly. Fox recommends, for vehicles competing, that this maintenance be repeated every 15 to 20 hours of test, with clear attention to the fact that, in training and tests, the dampers will be taken to almost as bold uses.
This maintenance is recommended mainly because the damper shaft retainers, with the contamination of sludge and sand, wear out and no longer retain the oils.
For passenger vehicles that are not subject to such high stresses, FOX suggests a repair every 100 hours of use
THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE
Oil alone loses properties as much as a car's engine oil. It is enough to consider the fact that in a test the damper oil can reach temperatures above 150ºC making thousands of passes through the piston and thus losing its viscosity and thermal recovery capacity.
On the other hand, maintenance within the recommended deadlines is also intended for preventive maintenance. When disassembling the entire damper, it is possible to identify other parts such as shafts, bumpers, bodies and damaged tuning washers.
Nothing would be worse than not finishing a test due to lack of maintenance and remember that, because the retainer is in good condition it does not mean that the entire damper is at the level of performance that it could be.

In the maintenance of FOX SSV shock absorbers, OffMax guarantees an excellent service, using only official tools, so that no component is damaged during the assembly and disassembly of the shock absorber.
We also guarantee the use of Fox's original reconstruction kit for a given shock absorber. After a service from us, the customer will ALWAYS receive all the material replaced in his shock absorbers so that there is no doubt about its maintenance. If you want, we can also send you the oil we replace.
Basic maintenance also guarantees the complete replacement of the damper oil with FOX oil, unlike some companies that limit themselves to adding oil.
For the price list presented, maintenance only guarantees the coverage of all o'rings, retainers, oil, nitrogen and labor. The price of any damaged extra components will be added to the repair fee.
